Exceptions to the All In Policy: Call for Comments
November 21, 2017
The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Board of Directors is reviewing whether to grant exceptions to the All In Policy that governs the Main Residency Match. Under the policy, programs that participate in the Main Residency Match must place all positions in the Match or another national matching plan.
Since implementation of the policy in 2012, the Board has approved exceptions for a limited number of positions in Rural Scholars and Family Medicine Accelerated Track (FMAT) programs, as well as for civilian programs that accept applicants with military commitments. Now, the Board is seeking input as it considers whether to continue granting exceptions and, if so, under what circumstances.
Questions and comments will be accepted until January 31, 2018 and should be sent to the attention of NRMP President and CEO Mona M. Signer by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by U.S. mail at the address below.
