Fellowship Match Day for Institutions

Drs. Brianna Conforti (l.) and Elena Rueda-de-Leon (r.) with Director of Medical Education and Pediatric Residency Program Director Dr. Raquel Hernandez; Johns Hopkins All Children’s Pediatric Residency Program; 2016 Pediatric Specialties Spring Fellowship Match

Prior to Match Day

  • Institutional officials should review and update the institution’s billing information in the R3 system to ensure timely processing of the Match invoice.
  • Program directors should be reminded to review and update program information in the R3 system to ensure unmatched applicants can contact them in the event the program does not fill all positions when the matching algorithm is processed.

Match Day

At 12:00 p.m. ET on Match Day for each Fellowship Match, institutional officials, program directors, and coordinators can log in to the Registration, Ranking, and Results® (R3®) system to learn if all positions were filled and to access the program’s Confidential Roster of Matched Applicants and other Match reports. Programs with unfilled positions can access the List of Unmatched Applicants and begin contacting them about a position. Programs should utilize the Applicant Match History in the R3 system to determine an applicant’s eligibility prior to offering them an interview.

NRMP recommends institutional officials print and archive Match reports on or soon after Match Day so they can be used for state and federal report, institutional and program accreditation, and other purposes. Reports will NOT be available in the R3 system after the Match closes. The NRMP charges a fee for requests for data received after a Match has closed.
