Specialties Matching Service Welcomes the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Fellowship Match!
The Specialties Matching Service is pleased to welcome Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
fellowship programs to the NRMP for the 2009 appointment year. For the match's

Medical Specialties Matching Program Continues
to Grow!
The Specialties Matching Service is pleased to welcome Nephrology and Endocrinology
to the Medical Specialties Matching Program, the fellowship match for Internal
Medicine subspecialties. The programs will participate in the 2008 MSMP for
the 2009 appointment year. Registration opens January 2, 2008. With the addition
of Nephrology and Endocrinology, the MSMP will encompass 1,030 programs, 2,860
positions, and more than 5,100 applicants

Main Residency Match
The 2008 Match offered more positions and made more matches than
ever before in the NRMP's history, and the match rate for U.S. allopathic
seniors (94.2 percent) was the highest in 30 years. The press

an early look at the 2008 Main Residency Match results. Data presented
include positions offered and filled, applicant characteristics,
match rates for U.S. allopathic seniors and all applicants, and

This report summarizes all fellowship matches conducted by the NRMP's
Specialties Matching Service (SMS). Data are provided for matches
conducted in 2007 (and early 2008) for appointments beginning in
July 2008. In addition, trend data over the past five years show
the number of programs, positions, and match rates by specialty.

NRMP Fees
The applicant registration fee is $40. Institutions pay a $100
registration fee, plus $20 per participating program and $20 per
applicant matched to the program.
