About the Organization

The National Resident Matching Program® (NRMP®) is a private, not-for-profit organization established in 1952 to provide a uniform date of appointment to positions in graduate medical education (GME) in the United States. The NRMP is not an application processing service; rather, it provides an impartial venue for matching applicants’ and programs’ preferences for each other consistently. The NRMP conducts the annual Main Residency Match encompassing 40,000 applicants for more than 25,000 positions in core residencies as well as Matches for fellowship positions in 55 subspecialties through its Specialties Matching Service®.

Position Summary

The Product Manager operates at the intersection of the business and technology to deliver a digital product that supports strategic initiatives that contribute to the iMatch product vision and the organizational goals. Partners with senior leadership in the development of the iMatch product strategy, creates alignment and communicates effectively to key stakeholders, team members, and executive leadership. Responsible for maintenance and implementation of an iMatch Product Roadmap. Monitors and maintains the iMatch product health, supporting long-term product viability and efficiency, and balancing long and short-term features and costs with desired outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with President/CEO, CIO and other Leadership team members on efforts pertaining to new business expansion – providing content expertise, preparing and delivering presentations and demonstrations tailored to potential clients’ needs.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for the maturation of the iMatch system. Prioritize development of features as they align against product strategy today and in the long term, by understanding relevant technical, and market contexts.
  • Gather requirements from new entities and articulate these to technical lead for iMatch implementation and development projects, and other systems as assigned, to meet client specifications and all foreign legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. data privacy, FedRamp).
  • Assist in maintenance of iMatch systems documentation, training materials, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure delivery and support of the iMatch system is scoped and managed to increase product value, while minimizing product development costs.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance and proactively champion product improvements.
  • Accountable for execution of user acceptance testing related to the iMatch system.
  • Define product usage metrics and work with development teams to monitor.
  • Identify issues, risks, and dependencies for iMatch product development.
  • Ensure alignment and adherence to corporate, financial and IT standards (e.g. architecture, compliance, security)
  • Partner with application development teams to determine resources and skills required for the product team to deliver on the product roadmap.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Computer Science, Business or a related field preferred, advanced degree a plus.
  • At least 10 years of digital and solution experience in a management role, with 5-8 years in product management translating business strategy and analysis into digital products in an Agile product development environment.
  • Agile product management in custom software development, writing and gathering product requirements, gap analysis, and business case development.
  • Experience in consulting / product management / product development / product engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to engage and influence at all levels, make the complex simple and interface with senior leadership and potential and existing clients.
  • Transparent and open and treasures people as assets. Ability to build relationships to understand goals and needs of the product and the team.
  • Ability to listen and describe a future state, what problems it solves and the priorities. Adapts to new ways of working and embraces ambiguity.

This position is primarily remote and sedentary. There may be occasional overnight travel and duties may require some bending and lifting.
