Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD)
ACHD focuses on treating adults with congenital heart defects and their sequelae including heart failure, valve dysfunction, arrhythmia, and other challenges unique to different surgical palliations or repairs. Additional information can be found at the American College of Cardiology.
Applicants must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Medicine-Pediatrics. Applicants must complete a fellowship in adult Cardiovascular Disease or Pediatric Cardiology prior to beginning ACHD fellowship.

Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology (AHFTC) focuses on diagnostic reasoning, clinical research, appropriate mechanical circulatory support and treatment, and patient-centered care in the management of advanced heart failure and cardiology transplant patients. More information can be found through the Heart Failure Society of America.
Applicants must have completed a ACGME, RCPSC, or CFPC (Canadian) accredited cardiovascular disease residency program. Please check ACGME for any additional requirements.

Allergy/Immunology
Allergy/Immunology focuses on treating children and adults with allergic disorders, asthma, immunologic disorders and immunodeficiency diseases. Additional information can be found through the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Applicants must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine and/or Pediatrics.

Cardiovascular Disease
Cardiovascular Disease focuses on patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions including chronic coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmia, acute myocardial infarction, and other congenital heart disease. Cardiovascular Disease fellowships are three years in length with one year devoted to research.
Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (CCEP) focuses on researching, diagnosing, and treating disorders of the electrical activities of the heart. Additional information can be found through the Heart Rhythm Society.
Applicants must have completed an ACGME- or RCPSC-accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship program.

Critical Care Medicine
NEW FOR THE 2021 MATCH! Critical Care Medicine is concerned with the internal medicine subspecialty that focuses on the diagnosis, management, and prevention of complications in patients who are severely ill and who usually require intensive monitoring and/or organ system support. Endocrinology fellowships are either a two-year clinical curriculum or a three-year combined clinical and research.

Gastroenterology focuses on researching, diagnosing, and treating disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. Geriatric Medicine focuses on health promotion, prevention and treatment of disease, and disability for elderly patients, as well as how to manage and prevent multiple health concerns. Additional information can be found through the American Geriatrics Society.

Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Hospice and Palliative Medicine uses a team approach to prevent and relieve suffering to support the best possible quality of life for patients and their families, regardless of the stage of disease or the need for other therapies. As such, it can be delivered concurrently with life-prolonging care or as the main focus of care. Additional information can be found through the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Applicants must have completed an ACGME-or RCPSC-accredited program in child neurology, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or neurology; or at least three clinical years in an ACGME-or RCPSC-accredited graduate educational program in one of the following specialties: anesthesiology, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, radiation oncology, radiology, or surgery.
