Headache Medicine focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and research of headache and related disorder. Additional information can be found through the American Migraine Foundation and the American Headache Society.
- Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency program in specialties including but not limited to neurology, internal medicine, pediatrics, child neurology, family medicine, anesthesiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry, or obstetrics and gynecology.
- Headache Medicine fellowships are one year in length unless specified otherwise by the program.

The NRMP is not a centralized application service. Candidates are responsible for determining whether the specialty participates in a standardized application service such as the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS®) or whether they must apply directly to the programs of their choice. Applicants must ensure they meet all program prerequisites and institutional policies regarding eligibility for appointment prior to ranking a program through the NRMP.
