Your Guide to Fellowship Matches
Welcome to the Specialties Matching Service® (SMS®). The SMS encompasses multiple Fellowship Matches representing more than 70 subspecialties.
To participate in a Specialties Matching Service® Fellowship Match, prior to the start of training, an applicant must have completed all training required for the position, must meet all requirements for entry into GME as prescribed by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME®), and any additional eligibility requirements provided by the sponsoring institution (e.g., a teaching hospital).

Fellowship Match Checklist
Stay on track with this year’s Fellowship Match Checklist.
Applicants must apply directly to fellowship programs in addition to registering for the Match and should check with programs to find out how they want to receive applications. Some fellowships use their own application, and others use AAMC’s Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS®). Applicants must register with both NRMP and ERAS to participate in the services of each organization. Applicants are encouraged to rely on NRMP data reports to learn about the success of prior applicants when choosing where to send applications.

Fellowship Data Reports
Interview dates are set by individual programs. The NRMP Program Rating and Interview Scheduling Manager (PRISM®) mobile app lets you track and rate programs and is available for iPhone and Android platforms. Remember that NRMP policy requires applicants and programs to provide complete, timely, and accurate information during the application, interview, and matching processes.
