Medical school officials/administrators (SO/SA) are required to verify the graduation credentials of their students and prior-year gradautes to participate in the Main Residency Match and Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP).

Credentials vertification is an important task: only students and graduates who are verified as eligible to enter graduate medical education (GME) on July 1 in the year of the Match can participate. NRMP does not mandate medical school graduation requirements, so the eligibility status of applicants must be based on criteria specific to the school.

Verification of graduation credentials is completed in the R3 system beginning when ranking opens and must be completed by the Rank Order List Certification Deadline.
