Charting Outcomes™: Characteristics of Non-U.S. Citizen International Medical Students/Graduates Who Matched to Their Preferred Specialty: 2026 Main Residency Match® 

This report examines how applicant attributes affect Match outcomes in the Main Residency Match®, with a focus on matching to preferred specialty. Eleven measures are examined in this report, including the number of contiguous ranks in preferred specialty, the number of distinct specialties ranked, USMLE® Step 2 CK score, and the median numbers of research, work, and volunteer experiences. For the first time, there are separate reports for U.S. and non-U.S. citizen IMGs. Historically a biennial report, this report will now be released annually.
