Research

Research conducted by the National Resident Matching Program is intended to broaden understanding of The Match as well as help evolve processes within graduate medical education to be fairer and achieve greater outcomes for all applicants.

Research activities are guided by a robust research agenda that is directed by the Data Release and Research Committee of the NRMP Board of Directors. All reports produced by the NRMP preserve the confidentiality of applicants, medical schools, residency programs, and teaching hospitals.
