NRMP will combine its Medical Specialties Matching Program and Pediatric Specialties Fellowship Match into a new ‘Medicine and Pediatric Specialties Match,’ beginning in 2022 for the 2023 appointment year.
NRMP has worked closely over the past two years with the Council of Pediatric Subspecialties, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors, and the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine to explore the benefits to applicants and feasibility of combining the Matches. Creating a single Match for these subspecialties will allow an applicant to rank both Medicine and Pediatrics programs on the same rank list for combined training and permit partners in each specialty to participate in the combined Match as a couple. Other than a two-week shift in the typical date pattern for Pediatric subspecialties, participation in the Match by fellowship programs will not be impacted.
The first combined Medicine and Pediatric Specialties Match will take place in 2022 for the 2023 appointment year with the following schedule:
*Match Registration Opens:
*Rank Order List Opens:
*Quota Change Deadline:
*Rank Order List Certification Deadline:
