To ensure continued, comprehensive support and new and expanded reporting to medical schools and their students, the NRMP Board of Directors has approved the implementation of a Medical School Registered Applicants fee beginning with the 2026 Main Residency Match. The fees outlined in the table below reflect a tiered, flat fee structure based on the number of senior students from each school/campus who register to participate in the Match.

The NRMP is committed to continuous quality improvement and building and implementing new initiatives and system enhancements to improve or inform the matching process as part of the transition to residency. Some efforts central to schools and applicants, include:

  • Addition of new medical school-specific reporting pertaining to each medical school’s Match outcomes which will be available to registered school users in the Registration, Ranking, and Results® (R3®) system this summer;
  • Continued integration of the functionality and data needs for multiple application service providers into the technical environment for the Match and SOAP processes, ensuring data integrity and security throughout the Match cycle while fostering a transparent, streamlined experience for unmatched or partially matched applicants; and
  • Expanding and modernizing NRMP’s library of microlearning videos and support guides for all participants to support the educational needs of the community.

At the conclusion of the 2026 Main Residency Match, the NRMP will invoice medical schools through the NRMP’s R3 system. NRMP has updated the Match Fees page on the NRMP website with this and other helpful information.

NRMP staff is always available at support@nrmp.org to answer any questions you may have. We value our partnership with medical schools and look forward to ways we can continue to build and enhance the unparalleled matching services and resources we offer to schools, learners, and programs.
