Frequently Asked Questions to the 2023 Match Participation Agreements for Programs and the Codes of Conduct for Programs
The NRMP has created new frequently asked questions around the interview policy and three-year medical education curriculum policy, click here to view the updated frequently asked questions. Q: What does it mean that a program must extend interview offers that equal, not exceed, the total number of available interview slots? A: During the recruitment phase,…
Would it be an NRMP violation if a program conducted hybrid interviews by offering applicants the option to have either an in-person or virtual interview? The Codes of Conduct for Programs state programs must minimize bias by conducting interviews in-person or virtually, but not both.
It is not a violation of NRMP policy to conduct hybrid interviews. I want to administer a survey to all applicants and/or program directors in a specialty. Can the NRMP distribute the survey for me, provide contact information for potential study participants so I can reach out to them, or send out a message promoting my study?
The NRMP’s policy is not to broker surveys nor to promote research studies on behalf of external researchers. The NRMP also does not release contact information for its constituents.
Do I need to provide the NRMP program code for our program to the applicants?
It is important to provide applicants your NRMP program code to assist them in ranking your program, especially if you have multiple program tracks or types. NRMP provides a search function for applicants to search for the programs they wish to rank. However, institutions may have similar names or multiple tracks in a specialty which…
